    AI-assisted narrative design: a model of human-AI collaborative creativity in popularizing digital journalism articles

    This article presents an applied case study on a collaborative creativity model between a journalist and a generative artificial intelligence (AI-G) in the weekly production of digital articles for popular science. For 60 weeks, the author published in the Ecuadorian newspaper La Hora a series of texts written from a speculative and educational perspective, accompanied by AI-generated images, designed through prompts designed to complement the narrative approach of each installment. The aim of this research is to analyze how the use of generative AI, consciously integrated by the journalist into their creative process, transforms the dynamics of content production, enhances the symbolic expressiveness of scientific dissemination and configures a replicable model of human-AI co-creation in digital media. The methodology employed follows a longitudinal and qualitative approach, with systematic documentation of the author’s creative workflow. From the selection of the topic, writing the text, designing the prompt, generating and curating the image, to publishing it in a newspaper. The results show that the collaboration with AI made it possible to represent abstract scientific concepts through images with high evocative value, enriching the reading experience and expanding the scope of the texts. The analysis reveals that AI functioned as a generative interlocutor that not only provided visuality, but also influenced the journalist’s language and narrative rhythm, while generating unexpected and suggestive responses. The implications of this model in terms of creative agency, evolution of the author’s abilities to interact with AI, and new ethical challenges around visual authorship and generative aesthetics are discussed. This experience shows that AI can be incorporated into the journalistic exercise not as an automated tool, but as a semiotic collaborator that expands the expressive possibilities of narrative journalism in digital contexts of scientific dissemination.     Digital Narrative to Strengthen Interculturality in Early Childhood
    This study analyzes the pedagogical potential of digital narratives in early education, taking as an object of study the animated series Sueños y Colores de Mi País. The main objective is to examine how this audiovisual content contributes to the strengthening of cultural identity and the promotion of interculturality in early childhood. The research adopts a qualitative methodology of documentary review and content analysis, organized into four categories: cultural representation, ethnoeducation, language and use of rhymes, and values and attitudes. The results show that the episodes of the series integrate cultural symbols, linguistic expressions and messages of coexistence that favor meaningful learning, the appreciation of diversity and the socio-emotional development of children. It is concluded that digital narratives, when applied for educational purposes, constitute an effective tool to innovate in pedagogical practices, strengthen cultural identity and generate inclusive attitudes from an early age. © 2026 IEEE.

    Environmental audiovisual narratives in higher education: the music video as a transversal didactic strategy for education for sustainable development

    Higher education institutions are facing a growing challenge: to train professionals who are not only technically competent, but also aware of their responsibility towards environmental sustainability. Despite the urgency of the global climate crisis and the commitments set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda, sustainability education in universities remains fragmented and rarely integrated as a cross-disciplinary competence. This article examines the pedagogical potential of music videos with explicit environmental messages as digital narratives to foster sustainability awareness among university students, regardless of their field of study. Three video clips were selected from a corpus of twelve candidates, through explicit criteria that include cultural reach, centrality of the environmental message, and pedagogical suitability for higher education. Each case is analyzed through a narrative-environmental-SDG matrix that articulates audiovisual resources, environmental problems represented, responsible agents, scale of impact and links with the Sustainable Development Goals. From the analysis, a conceptual proposal for didactic application is derived in three phases such as pre-visualization, guided audiovisual analysis and professional transfer, based on the theory of significant learning and the pedagogy of digital narratives. The proposal is applicable transversally to university curricula and contributes to the intersection between digital narrative pedagogy and Education for Sustainable Development, identifying a culturally powerful and systematically underutilized resource for sustainability training in higher education. © 2026 Londoño-Proaño and Zurita-Lagos.

    Algoritmos de aprendizaje para predecir el uso de la inteligencia artificial generativa en estudiantes universitarios

    The rise of generative artificial intelligence has transformed educational processes in higher education, generating both opportunities and challenges in university training. This study aimed to analyze machine learning algorithms to predict the use of ChatGPT and Gemini among students at the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo in Ecuador. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design was employed, with a sample of 699 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a statistically validated questionnaire and processed using SPSS and Orange Data Mining. The results showed that sociodemographic variables (sex, age, religion, and academic semester) did not present significant associations with usage preference, indicating low explanatory power. In contrast, the frequency of generative artificial intelligence use was a relevant predictor, highlighting the importance of habit as a determinant of adoption. Furthermore, the Random Forest and AdaBoost algorithms achieved the highest levels of accuracy, confirming the effectiveness of ensemble methods. It is concluded that socio-educational conditions better explain student behavior than demographic factors, consolidating ChatGPT as the most used tool.     Psychopedagogy and the Fields of Action of Educational Psychologists

    This work analyzes the essential aspects of Psychopedagogy as a scientific discipline and educational psychologists’ main fields of action. It is theoretical research developed with the hermeneutic method. The problem identification reveals excessive divergences in Psychopedagogy’s conceptions and other aspects. In the empirical phase, little difference is observed between Psychopedagogy and psycho-pedagogical practice; Psychopedagogy has been generally and loosely linked to formal education, to unique or specific educational needs, and learning problems in the school context. Regarding the fields of action of educational psychologists, the existing information is minimal. In the interpretative phase, the findings in the theoretical, methodological, and praxeological order reveal that Psychopedagogy has as its object of study the learning and development of the human being; it directs the psycho-pedagogical practice given from the principles of prevention, development, and social action. Hence, the fields of action of psychopedagogy are all those contexts in which human learning takes place, highlighting formal education and integral development; family and interpersonal relationships; health and body care; business, labor, and professional development; and the meaning of life and values, all of which is supported by the fact that human beings, as social beings by essence, learn, develop and transform throughout life. © 2023, North American Business Press.     Relationship Between Body Schema and Socioemotional Well-Being in Early Childhood: A Comparative Study
    The present study explores the deficiencies observed in the development of the body schema and the limited access to socio-emotional tools in early education students. The objective was to analyze the influence of the body schema on the socio-emotional well-being of boys and girls aged 4 to 5 years, belonging to the Teresa Flor Educational Unit, located in Ambato, Ecuador. With a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design of exploratory and explanatory scope, 47 students were evaluated using the Goodenough and Harris tests. Statistical tests were used to test the hypothesis that the development of the body schema positively impacts socioemotional well-being. The results revealed that greater development of the body schema is related to higher self-esteem, better emotional management and more effective social interaction. Objectively applied evaluations showed that children with greater knowledge of their body tend to manage their emotions better and establish stronger social relationships. In conclusion, the study highlights the importance of promoting activities that encourage the development of the body schema, since they contribute significantly to socio-emotional well-being in early childhood. These findings highlight the need to incorporate socio-emotional tools and resources in educational programs to guarantee comprehensive development.

    Assessment in education has evolved over time and has established new ways of obtaining information about students' academic progress. However, the advent of artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, has posed challenges in the assessment process, as students can use these technologies to solve questions and tasks without studying. This research focused on recommending alternative educational resources for assessment, considering the pros and cons of ChatGPT and other AI. A systematic literature review was conducted and resources such as written tests, Kahoot!, Quizlet, Mentimeter and Nearpod were identified and evaluated in the tool designed in Microsoft Excel to evaluate their effectiveness. The results showed that the written test and the Plickers tool were the most effective, followed by ClassTools, Flip, Kahoot!, Quizlet, Mentimeter and Nearpod, in addition a list of activities that can be used to assess knowledge through the rubric is shown, among the most important are: oral lessons, exhibitions, open houses, speeches, case studies, debates and observation of participation, because these types of work encourage the speaker to prepare and master the subject. Traditional assessment in the educational field has faced challenges with the advent of artificial intelligence because AI's ability to generate tasks and answers without students having to read, write or study poses a challenge to ensure the actual acquisition of knowledge and skills. This research recommends educational resources to assess through digital tools or educational activities that allow for authentic assessment of learning and limit reliance on AI. © 2023 IEEE.

    Classdojo as an Educational Technology to Enhance the Learning of Logical Mathematical Notions
    The purpose of the research was to design strategies that allow the development of critical thinking for the learning of mathematics in upper elementary school students. The same is of a quasi-experimental type that contemplates a methodology based on a quantitative approach, which allowed after the application of the proposal for four weeks, to analyze and explain the phenomenon under study through the application of objective tests of 10 items in a pretest and a posttest, applied to 156 tenth grade students of an educational unit in Ecuador, for the experiment were divided into two groups: 78 students in the control group and 78 students in the experimental group, which was subjected to an innovative proposal and traditional education. The post evaluation results of the scores obtained from the control group showed an overall average of 4.65 showing the lack of skills and cognitive tools to develop critical thinking. While, the experimental group reached an average of 7.63 after the implementation of the proposal, observing a significant improvement in their skills and qualities in the development of critical thinking, evolving positively with the criteria applied within the didactic guide. Finally, to test the hypothesis, the Anova statistical test was used, which concluded a direct relationship between the development of critical thinking and the learning of mathematics.

    This research emphasizes the significance of the Galapagos Islands as a unique tourist destination with exceptional biodiversity and valuable natural heritage for adult tourists. It explores how adventurous tourists of different ages, particularly older adults, have become a crucial source of economic income and a catalyst for the development of local communities. The study also discusses the importance of implementing sustainable tourism practices to protect fragile ecosystems and the islands’ endemic biodiversity. It also addresses challenges such as the introduction of alien species, the impact of increasing tourism demand on resources and infrastructure, and the crucial need for a balance between economic development and environmental conservation. The research examines how sustainable tourism has significantly benefitted local communities, not only in terms of employment generation but also in promoting environmental awareness and community participation, instilling hope and optimism for a sustainable, prosperous future. The research concludes by emphasizing the need for a holistic and adaptive approach to ensure that the Galapagos Islands remain a model of sustainable tourism, protecting its natural heritage and ensuring a sustainable, prosperous future for its inhabitants and adult tourists.

    Student Perceptions of an AI-Based Assistant for Formative Feedback in Higher Education

    The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher educationHigher education is transforming assessment and feedback practices, yet empirical evidence from Latin America remains scarce. This study examines students’ perceptions of an AI-based assistant (ChatGPT) for formative feedbackFormative feedback and assessment in an undergraduate instructional design course in Ecuador.
