    Digital Narrative to Strengthen Interculturality in Early Childhood
    This study analyzes the pedagogical potential of digital narratives in early education, taking as an object of study the animated series Sueños y Colores de Mi País. The main objective is to examine how this audiovisual content contributes to the strengthening of cultural identity and the promotion of interculturality in early childhood. The research adopts a qualitative methodology of documentary review and content analysis, organized into four categories: cultural representation, ethnoeducation, language and use of rhymes, and values and attitudes. The results show that the episodes of the series integrate cultural symbols, linguistic expressions and messages of coexistence that favor meaningful learning, the appreciation of diversity and the socio-emotional development of children. It is concluded that digital narratives, when applied for educational purposes, constitute an effective tool to innovate in pedagogical practices, strengthen cultural identity and generate inclusive attitudes from an early age. © 2026 IEEE.

    Algoritmos de aprendizaje para predecir el uso de la inteligencia artificial generativa en estudiantes universitarios
    (Grupo Compas, 2026-07-15)
    The rise of generative artificial intelligence has transformed educational processes in higher education, generating both opportunities and challenges in university training. This study aimed to analyze machine learning algorithms to predict the use of ChatGPT and Gemini among students at the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo in Ecuador. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design was employed, with a sample of 699 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a statistically validated questionnaire and processed using SPSS and Orange Data Mining. The results showed that sociodemographic variables (sex, age, religion, and academic semester) did not present significant associations with usage preference, indicating low explanatory power. In contrast, the frequency of generative artificial intelligence use was a relevant predictor, highlighting the importance of habit as a determinant of adoption. Furthermore, the Random Forest and AdaBoost algorithms achieved the highest levels of accuracy, confirming the effectiveness of ensemble methods. It is concluded that socio-educational conditions better explain student behavior than demographic factors, consolidating ChatGPT as the most used tool. Inclusive education and psychological wellbeing: Support strategies for students in diverse settings
    This study examines the relationship between inclusive education and psychological wellbeing, emphasizing pedagogical and institutional strategies that promote students’ active participation in diverse educational contexts. The purpose of the research is to analyze the main barriers affecting inclusion and emotional wellbeing in school settings and to identify support strategies with the greatest perceived impact on students’ engagement and retention. A qualitative, hermeneutic-interpretative approach was adopted, based on a documentary review of scientific literature published between 2020 and 2025. Peer-reviewed articles, policy documents, and institutional reports were selected from recognized databases such as Scopus, SciELO, ERIC, and IEEE Xplore. The analysis focused on inclusive education, psychological wellbeing, teacher training, socioemotional strategies, and educational policy. The results reveal that the most significant barriers to inclusive education are insufficient teacher training in inclusive and socioemotional practices (reported in 85% of the reviewed studies), the disconnect between pedagogical strategies and students’ psychological needs (78%), and the lack of adaptive educational resources (72%). Additionally, limited emotional support systems and weak institutional policies oriented toward wellbeing contribute to higher levels of demotivation and school dropout, particularly in vulnerable regions. Conversely, strategies such as Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) showed the highest perceived impact, with effectiveness scores of 4.6 and 4.4 out of 5, respectively. The study concludes that inclusive education cannot be achieved without systematically addressing students’ psychological wellbeing. Integrating socioemotional education, strengthening teacher training, and aligning public policies with inclusive and human-centered approaches are essential to fostering equitable, safe, and meaningful learning environments. These findings highlight the need for comprehensive educational models that connect pedagogical, emotional, and institutional dimensions.

    (2026) ;
    Miguel Ángel Uribe-Laverde
    The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher educationHigher education is transforming assessment and feedback practices, yet empirical evidence from Latin America remains scarce. This study examines students’ perceptions of an AI-based assistant (ChatGPT) for formative feedbackFormative feedback and assessment in an undergraduate instructional design course in Ecuador. Using a mixed-methods design, results show high levels of Perceived Usefulness, Ease of Use, and Motivational Value, while concerns emerged regarding transparencyTransparency, privacy, and equitable access. Students valued the immediacy and objectivity of AI-generated feedback but emphasized the need for clearer grading criteria and continued human mediation. These findings provide one of the first regional contributions to understanding the role of AI-based assistants in higher educationHigher education, underscoring their potential to complement traditional feedback in resource-constrained environments while highlighting ethical and practical challenges that must be addressed for equitable adoption. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2026.

    ;
    Education requires going beyond educational approaches focused on the transmission and reception of knowledge, through actions that promote meaningful learning. Project-based learning (PBL) is presented as an active methodology to improve the teaching-learning process that allows not only to expand communication skills but also to encourage creativity and awareness for research in students. The objective of this research was to design a guide of didactic activities based on promoting learning through projects from the academic planning, execution and evaluation phases, in order to motivate students through cooperative work and research to solve contextual challenges or problems. Theoretical methods were used: historical analysis, analytical-synthetic, inductive – deductive and techniques such as surveys with questionnaires. This study’s population had 37 seventeen- years- old students from elementary education and 4 teachers from the area of natural sciences. The findings show that teachers face weaknesses related to the use of strategies; therefore, the need to design a guide that promotes PBL activities is necessary. It is evident that students can highly improve with the application of the mentioned guide.

    ;
    Jiménez, Silvia Aguirre
    The objective of this research work was to design a theoretical-practical model for evaluating university courses for accreditation purposes. The paradigm used was mixed (quali-quantitative) of a descriptive, explanatory, exploratory and correlational type; interpretive in nature and focused on action research. Furthermore, to support the construction of the proposed model, bibliographic, documentary and field analysis processes were used. One of the main conclusions obtained because of the research process has allowed us to determine that the approach of this model could help improve the designs of the different academic careers and programs at a macro, meso and micro curricular level for accreditation purposes, also allowing in this way, comply with the evaluation parameters established by the Ecuadorian university higher education control bodies.

    Implementation of Itinerant Classrooms as an Educational Strategy for Pedagogical Knowledge Recovery in Basic Education Students
    The global COVID-19 pandemic resulted in academic setbacks due to the loss of learning, the effects of which began to become evident during the progressive return to in-person classes, highlighting the need to work on re-education processes. This study examines the effectiveness of itinerant classrooms in facilitating learning recovery among Basic Education students following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. A pedagogical support intervention was implemented for 304 students across educational institutions nationwide. A quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach was employed, utilizing pre-test and post-test assessments to evaluate mathematics performance. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in student grades after the intervention, with the complete elimination of scores in the lower range. These findings underscore the effectiveness of itinerant classrooms as a mobile educational strategy that addresses the needs of students in marginalized communities. The research highlights the importance of an inclusive approach to pedagogical recovery, promoting collaboration among educators, psychologists, and families to comprehensively address academic underachievement.
