Item type:Publication, The Effectiveness of Animated Videos in Secondary School Students’ Understanding of Molecular Processes: An Experimental Study(2026); ; The use of educational animationsEducational animations, such as those created with PowtoonPowtoon, has established itself as an effective strategy for teaching complex scientific concepts in secondary education. In this study, the objective was to evaluate the effectivenessEffectiveness of these animations in improving students’ comprehension, motivation, and academic performance. The research was conducted with a sample of 26 tenth-grade students from the Josué Educational Unit in Ambato, Ecuador, selected through non-probabilistic sampling. The instructional design was based on the ADDIE model, integrating principles of the STEM approach in the development of the animated videos. To measure the impact of the intervention, a pretest–posttest design was applied, and the data were processed in SPSS v.27 using Student’s T-test for related samples. The results showed statistically significant differences between the pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05), confirming an improvement in both the understanding of scientific concepts and academic performance. Likewise, an increase in students’ motivation and interest in learning science was observed. In conclusion, educational animationsEducational animations developed with PowtoonPowtoon are an effective teaching strategy for promoting more dynamic and meaningful learning in secondary education. However, their implementation requires teacher training and access to technological resources, factors that may limit their application in certain educational contexts. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2026.9 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Web Page to Promote the Values of School Coexistence in Basic Education Students(2023); Escobar L.The incorporation of technologies in educational settings has led to changes that have affected the behavior of people, in education it is due to a current need to address this issue of significant relevance such as the lack of practice of ethical values in educational institutions, where it is perceived that students do not apply values. The main objective of this work was with 57 students whose age fluctuates between 10 and 14 years, for which an observation sheet was applied To know if the students apply or not values in the institution, the analysis of the results showed that there are problems of coexistence in the classroom, and in some cases acts of violence among the students are included, conflict situations that in many occasions last longer. Beyond class hours, almost all students show undesirable behaviors in some period of their development, this pattern varies according to the teacher, parent, situation or period. For this reason, the need arises to create web pages as an instructional and pedagogical resource to improve communication in the teaching–learning process of basic education students. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.26 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Reader Brochure as a Strategy to Improve Reading Comprehension in Education(2026); Reading comprehension is a key skill that allows you to interpret, analyze and understand texts relevant for learning and personal development. However, many students face difficulties in extracting information, making inferences and relating ideas, which limits their academic and professional performance. The purpose of the research was to develop a reading brochure to improve reading comprehension in fifth-year basic general education students. A quasi-experimental design and the descriptive statistical method were applied with a comparative design with normality tests; To validate the idea to be defended, a questionnaire was applied to evaluate reading comprehension to 80 fifth-year children through individual and group reading workshops. The results showed that children have difficulty reading, so it was necessary to apply the reading booklet prepared with readings created by the children based on elements of the environment to improve reading skills. It is concluded that the reader brochure develops creativity and imagination in students, helping to raise creativity in the creation of real readings according to the contexts that allow the development of critical and creative thinking. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2026.2
