2025 , Dillon Pérez, Francisco , Silvia Aguirre Jiménez , Juan Esteban Dillon , Rojas, David , Andino Altamirano, Grace

This research work focuses on the use of graph theory and social network analysis as a methodological and didactic tool for establishing defensive and offensive strategies in a sport that captivates millions of people worldwide, football. The research paradigm used was quantitative, descriptive, explanatory, and correlational. The study population has been selected by random convenience sampling and is made up of members of the Al-Nassr FC soccer team in which Cristiano Ronaldo plays. One of the main conclusions obtained focuses on the feasibility of using graph theory and social network analysis as part of the establishment of strategies, which could be extrapolated to any soccer team as part of its game dynamics with the purpose of improving the performance of its players

Virtual learning environments as an alternative in the teaching of critical medicine

2022 , Dillon F. , Jara F. , Rojas, David , Freire Muñoz, Irina

The general objective of this research work was to determine the feasibility of incorporating EVA as a didactic alternative in the teaching of critical medicine in postgraduate students. The research paradigm was of a propositive critical type with a mixed descriptive, explanatory, and correlational approach. The study population was selected through an intentional sampling for convenience and was made up of 90 students and 23 teachers of the postgraduate degree in Critical Medicine from two private universities in Ecuador. The research instruments used were two multiple-choice surveys with a single response on a Likert scale that, prior to their application, were validated and are reliable. The results obtained made it possible to determine the feasibility of incorporating EVAs in the academic training of critical medicine postgraduate students, thus also allowing the reduction of hospital absence times due to the academic training received virtually. © 2022, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao. Proposal of a theoretical-practical evaluation model for the accreditation of university courses in Ecuador

2024 , Dillon Pérez, Francisco , Rojas, David , Espinosa, Diana , Jiménez, Silvia Aguirre

The objective of this research work was to design a theoretical-practical model for evaluating university courses for accreditation purposes. The paradigm used was mixed (quali-quantitative) of a descriptive, explanatory, exploratory and correlational type; interpretive in nature and focused on action research. Furthermore, to support the construction of the proposed model, bibliographic, documentary and field analysis processes were used. One of the main conclusions obtained because of the research process has allowed us to determine that the approach of this model could help improve the designs of the different academic careers and programs at a macro, meso and micro curricular level for accreditation purposes, also allowing in this way, comply with the evaluation parameters established by the Ecuadorian university higher education control bodies.

Formation of Academic Clusters for the Segmentation of University Admission and Placement Processes in Ecuador

2025 , Dillon Pérez, Francisco , Rojas, David , Alexandra Clavijo , Lara Lara, Fernando , Andino Altamirano, Grace

The admission and academic leveling processes in public Higher Education Institutions (IES) in Ecuador are currently regulated by various criteria, which has led to countless new developments that have somehow increased the enrollment rates. Dropout of university students in various majors. The objective of this research process was to analyze the results of the “SER ESTUDIANTE” exam applied to high school students from the Sierra regime in 2022 for the formation of academic clusters that allow HEIs to manage the allocation of places and resources in the two processes of admission and university leveling. For this, a cross-sectional quantitative study was proposed in which graph theory and social network analysis were used to verify whether the formation of these clusters could facilitate the segmentation of public university admission and leveling processes. Among the main results obtained, the influence that social network analysis has on the formation of academic clusters and how these can be grouped for admission or university leveling purposes stands out.

Education and TIC: The use of network theory in the analysis of social and academic relationships in educational contexts

2020 , Dillon F. , Freire I. , Rojas, David , Espinosa D.

This research work focuses on analyzing the use of social network theory in the educational context. For this, three research published in various indexed journals were taken as a reference where the methodology used and the conclusions reached after using this methodological framework as a methodological framework have been described. The results obtained, have allowed to show the incorporation of this methodology in these contexts, however, as there is no detailed knowledge on this subject and inter and multidisciplinary work of the research professionals, it has been concluded that this methodology of the proposed analysis, it may not always be capable of being applied and replicated in other contexts. © 2020, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao.
