Abstract
A Gilbert Cell mixer is an essential device in radiofrequency (RF) applications and radiofrequency integrated circuits (RFIC), known for its high linearity and ability to operate at elevated frequencies. This study focuses on the design and simulation of a high-frequency Gilbert Cell mixer with a frequency divider using Proteus software, addressing critical aspects such as operating frequency, gain, and linearity. The methodology includes a thorough investigation of components and the efficient integration of a frequency divider, followed by a preliminary theoretical analysis to determine optimal design parameters. The Proteus simulation will evaluate parameters such as gain, harmonic distortion, noise figure, and unwanted signal rejection, providing an in-depth analysis of circuit performance. The discussion will compare the results with expected performance standards in wireless communications, highlighting efficiency and proposing adjustments to improve signal quality. This work not only demonstrates the feasibility of the design but also underscores its potential to enhance efficiency and performance in practical wireless communication applications, significantly contributing to the advancement of RF circuit design and its applications in information and communication technology. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2026.
