Through a comparative and correlational statistical analysis of the qualified accidents according to the study variables, it was possible to determine that the geographical areas of Ecuador with the highest occupational accident rate are zones 5 and 2 (73%), where there are also the highest number of qualified accidents from manufacturing industries (23.72%), occurring in the workplace (63%). The sex that presents the greatest number of qualified accidents is male and the parts of the body that suffer the greatest injury are the upper limbs (35%). Finally, it is concluded that in order to improve occupational safety in organizations, it is necessary a commitment between the state, employers and workers, key actors for the generation of a culture of prevention based on various strategies. © 2023 IEEE.

Evaluation of training projects based on socio-training: the case of the Quality Control project

2022 , Espinoza Guano, Mónica , Ramos-Guevara J.

Currently, training projects are a necessary instrument for teacher planning, so that expected learning must be focused on the reality of the context in which students develop. The purpose of this study is to establish the learning outcomes in a clear and concrete way according to the socio-training approach, under which the learning outcome and the product resulting from it must provide a solution to a problem of the context. The methodology applied was focused on action-training research so that through the analysis and evaluation processes of expected learning, changes or improvements can be made to the Quality Control training project. The main results show that most of the expected learning is somewhat theoretical and does not contribute to the solution of a real problem. By improving the training project, the learning results are intended to be of a practical nature, contributing to the improvement of the community's living conditions. The quality control training project was improved to a great extent, through the planning of the teacher's activities, autonomous and practical; the contents were structured according to the socio-training approach, so that the students deal with real cases of their context. © 2022 IEEE.

Maturity of innovation culture in Ecuadorian companies

2022 , Espinoza Guano, Mónica , Jorge Á.-T. , Juan R.-G.

In the current situation, society demands innovative products and processes, so it is vital to promote their development for the creation of value propositions in companies, which are reluctant to invest in these aspects. The objective is to evaluate the innovation culture of companies through the model proposed by Rao & Weintraub for the identification of fields of action in Ecuadorian organizations. Interviews and surveys were applied to representatives of 49 companies, through 54 key questions to measure the culture of innovation. An index of 4.02 and a perception index of 4.07 were determined for the contrast. The instrument is reliable on the evaluation of the innovation culture index. The most highly valued elements are exploration, autonomy and challenge, while the elements to be strengthened are access to experts, financing and minimization of internal bureaucracy. © 2022, Associacao Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao.
