Abstract
The present study was carried out in the Faculty of Architecture, Arts and Design of the Indoamerica Technological University, Ambato-Ecuador, in the period 2021-2022, in which the motivation of university students on the use of the Tiktok social network in the learning process evidenced in their academic performance. 126 students from four training projects participated, two from the basic training axis (group A: I use Tiktok) and two from the professional training axis (group B: I do not use Tiktok), as well as four teachers. In the training projects of group A, Tiktok has been used as the main channel for the development of activities, while in group B the use of Tiktok has not been carried out. A quantitative-qualitative methodology has been used. A pre-test and a post-test are carried out to check the motivation of the students at the end of their study period. As a result, it is observed that the students who have used Tiktok as a learning tool feel more motivated and show a dedication to the content notably greater than the students who did not, which is evidenced in their academic record. On the other hand, the different perceptions on the part of the teachers are evident, those who did use Tiktok are younger and recognize its benefits, unlike the teachers who have not used it, who are older and have a harder time adapting to the use of Tiktok. technology and social networks. © 2022 IEEE.
