Abstract
The food industry in Ecuador occupies a high position in financial products, especially in the Tisaleo town, where their main activity is the production of strawberry and blackberry wine, which is becoming the principal activities associated with the sector. However, the vulnerability of the area means that most of its producers develop the wine with manual processes. On the other hand, virtual simulation based on FEM tools, serve to develop products in an accurately way. Thus, in this work was carried out the computational simulation of stress and strain applied to a fruit pulping machine necessary for the production of wine. Through this approach the user can understand the magnitudes that serve to identify mechanical stresses and being possible to used as a teaching-learning tool. For the development, the CAD tool was used, and for the computational simulation of the machine, the finite element method (FEM) was applied, all this to have the best option according to the required mechanical characteristics. The simulation realeases a maximum stress of 4910.1 psi. In this proccess In this proccess was applied a fastening int the shear levers, and maximum deformation of 0.0387 mm at the end of shear levers. On the other hand, in the mathematical relationship was determined a safety factor of 6.10 in the critical points of the proposed model. With this parameters, the results were favorable since the values obtained allow them to be optimized to reduce their costs according to the needs without affecting their regular operation. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
